South Korean and Chinese shipbuilders secured 14 and 26 of 40 VLAC orders announced from January to July 2026 as demand for long-distance ammonia transport vessels increased.
HD Hyundai Samho has delivered the 93,000 m³ Jane Maersk, its first very large ammonia carrier and the first of five VLACs ordered by Maersk in November 2023.
