Ørsted expects three offshore wind projects totalling 2.5 GW to be commissioned in the second half of 2026 as construction advances across its offshore portfolio.
Ørsted reported higher offshore EBITDA in Q1 2026 as it advanced offshore wind projects in the US, Europe, and Taiwan while maintaining full-year guidance.
Orsted has sued in Washington, D.C. over US President Donald Trump’s order halting construction at its 924MW Sunrise Wind offshore wind farm, saying the stoppage costs over $1 million a day and cancellation could exceed $8 billion.
Ørsted has raised $9.4 billion through a major rights issue to strengthen its finances after challenges in the U.S. offshore wind sector. The capital will fund Sunrise Wind and support the company’s global renewable energy strategy.
