During OTC Brazil 2025, Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard announced that the company may expand its exploration program in the Foz do Amazonas Basin with up to three additional wells, contingent on early results. The statement reaffirms Petrobras’ commitment to frontier exploration and compliance with the Paris Agreement.

Petrobras has received IBAMA’s environmental authorization to begin exploratory drilling in Brazil’s Equatorial Margin near the Amazon River’s mouth, ending a costly delay and advancing its offshore program.
