Petrobras has halted drilling at the Morpho well in the Foz do Amazonas Basin after 15 m³ (15,000 litres) of synthetic-based drilling mud leaked from auxiliary lines on the offshore rig.
During OTC Brazil 2025, Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard announced that the company may expand its exploration program in the Foz do Amazonas Basin with up to three additional wells, contingent on early results. The statement reaffirms Petrobras’ commitment to frontier exploration and compliance with the Paris Agreement.
