Equinor and Empire Wind won a preliminary injunction in D.C. federal court against the Trump administration’s 22 December stop-work order, allowing the partly built New York offshore wind farm to resume work.
Empire Offshore Wind LLC sued the U.S. Interior Department over the Empire Wind suspension order and will seek a preliminary injunction to keep construction moving while the case proceeds.
Empire Offshore Wind said it is complying with a BOEM stop-work notice issued on 22 December on national security grounds, suspending offshore activities on the US Outer Continental Shelf.
