Upstream reports that COOEC has engineered, built and launched an offshore jacket for Saudi Aramco’s Abu Safah field, underlining the rising role of Chinese EPC contractors in Middle East offshore projects.

Saipem has been chosen by QatarEnergy LNG, alongside Offshore Oil Engineering Co (COOEC), for an offshore EPCI contract in Qatar worth about $4 billion, with around $3.1 billion for Saipem’s share.

COOEC has completed the jacket for Shell Nigeria’s HI Project at its Tianjin base. The facility, featuring a hybrid wind and solar power system, will supply 350 million cubic feet of gas daily to the Nigeria LNG Train 7 expansion.
