Seatrium has achieved a significant milestone in its offshore innovation program with the Approval in Principle (AiP) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for its proprietary FLEXHull™ 1500K-M Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) design. The recognition was conferred during the ABS Offshore Reception 2025, held in conjunction with the FPSO World Congress Week.

The FLEXHull™ 1500K-M FPSO is engineered to deliver enhanced flexibility, safety, and efficiency for deepwater oil and gas production. Its hull design accommodates heavier topside loads of up to 80,000 metric tons while maintaining adaptability for varying requirements. The vessel offers expanded tank capacity, supports flexible mooring systems with up to 20 points, and is designed for water depths of up to 2,500 meters.

Operational features include the ability to process 120,000 barrels of oil per day and 10 million Sm³/d of gas, while providing storage capacity for over 1.5 million barrels of oil. Built for a 25-year lifespan, the unit meets international standards set by IMO, MARPOL, and ABS.

Seatrium highlighted that the FLEXHull™ is designed for challenging offshore environments, such as Brazil’s deepwater regions, underscoring its role in advancing next-generation energy solutions. The company noted that this achievement reflects its commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and sustainability in offshore production technologies.
