Copenhagen, 6 October 2025Scan Global Logistics (SGL), a global full-service logistics provider, has announced the launch of its operations in Egypt, marking a significant step in expanding its footprint across the MENAT (Middle East, North Africa, Türkiye) region. The company’s new Egyptian headquarters is located in Cairo’s City Stars Complex, with additional offices planned over the next 6 to 12 months.

SGL’s entry into Egypt complements its existing presence in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Türkiye. The expansion aligns with the company’s strategy to strengthen its regional network and deliver comprehensive logistics solutions that integrate air, ocean, road, and warehousing services.

Egypt’s logistics and warehousing industry was valued at approximately EGP 110 billion in 2023 and continues to grow as the country invests in infrastructure, regulatory reforms, and trade facilitation initiatives. SGL expects these developments to position Egypt as a central logistics hub for regional and global trade.

The new Egypt operations will be led by Ahmed Habib, a logistics veteran with more than 20 years of experience at major international logistics firms including Damco, Maersk, and FedEx. He will lead a multidisciplinary local team covering operations, supply chain, customs, finance, human resources, and administration. The company’s service portfolio in Egypt will include ocean freight, air freight, road transport, project logistics, warehousing, and in-house customs clearance.

Habib stated that by establishing a direct operational presence in Egypt, SGL will enhance control over its services and ensure full compliance with local regulations, while offering “world-class, simplified logistics solutions” to local and international customers.

Global CEO Allan Melgaard emphasized that this expansion reinforces SGL’s commitment to advancing logistics in the MENAT region, enabling deeper connectivity, innovative service solutions, and seamless customer experiences.

SGL, known for its mission to “uncomplicate the world of logistics,” employs over 5,100 people in more than 180 offices worldwide, providing integrated transport and supply chain solutions across air, sea, rail, and road.
