Ocean Network Express (ONE) has set a new benchmark in global container shipping after its mega vessel ONE Innovation successfully loaded 22,233 TEU, the highest container intake ever recorded on a single containership.
The 400-meter-long vessel, delivered in 2023 as ONE’s first “Megamax” class ship, has a nominal capacity of 24,136 TEU. This achievement surpasses ONE’s previous milestone of 22,000 TEU, set in December 2023, and the earlier 21,954 TEU record reached by ONE Integrity in November of the same year.
ONE Innovation departed Singapore and is currently en route to Felixstowe on the FE4 route. It is one of six 24,000 TEU-class vessels in ONE’s Asia–Europe service network, operating under the FE3 / Premier Alliance framework.
Ocean Network Express, established in 2017 through the integration of the container shipping businesses of “K” Line, MOL, and NYK, now ranks among the largest container carriers worldwide with a fleet of more than 260 vessels and a combined capacity of about 2 million TEU.
This latest record underscores the growing role of ultra-large containerships in driving economies of scale in maritime logistics, while also highlighting ONE’s commitment to operational efficiency and competitiveness across long-haul trade lanes.
