A.P. Moller – Maersk has reshaped its regional line-up, selecting Ditlev Blicher to take charge of its North America business as regional president with effect from 1 January 2026. At the same time, Charles van der Steene, who has led the North America region as regional president from January 2024 onward, will step into the role of managing director for Maersk in India, the Middle East and Africa. He previously oversaw that geography as regional managing director at Damco between 2016 and 2019, before the brand was folded into Maersk in 2019.
Blicher moves into the North America post after heading Maersk’s Asia Pacific region as regional president from 2023 onward. He has been with Maersk since 2020, bringing extensive international experience in logistics operations and general management. Before joining Maersk, he held the APA CEO role at DB Schenker, previously acted as president for freight forwarding in Asia Pacific and Europe at UTi Worldwide, and also served as an executive vice president responsible for group operations at CEVA Logistics.
According to the company, Blicher said he looks forward to working closely with colleagues in North America and building on the progress achieved as Maersk has developed into an end-to-end logistics provider. His stated priorities include driving sustainable growth, tightening operational execution and providing customers across the region with a consistently high service experience.
