Kenmare Resources (official site) has released a new video showcasing the remarkable delivery of its two latest high-capacity dredges to the Moma titanium minerals mine in Mozambique.
The film highlights the entire 15,000 km journey from the Netherlands, where the dredges were constructed, to their final installation at Moma. Using a semi-submersible vessel, the dredges were floated on in Rotterdam, transported across the ocean, and then carefully offloaded at Mafamidi Island. The video also captures the complex beach landing operation, supported by winches, divers, and tugboats, followed by the inland transfer using Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs).
Kenmare emphasizes that these are the largest dredges in its fleet, designed to replace older equipment. According to the company, they will significantly increase mining capacity, improve slimes removal, and ensure maximum efficiency at the wet concentrator.
The video provides rare behind-the-scenes footage of one of the most challenging logistics projects in Kenmare’s history, marking what the company describes as a “remarkable day” for its operations.
