Halliburton has been awarded an integrated drilling and completion services contract by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), in partnership with Sunlink Energies, for the development of the HI gas field located in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 144) offshore Nigeria.
The HI project, situated approximately 50 kilometres offshore, is a key component of Nigeria’s ongoing gas expansion efforts. Once operational, it will supply about 10 million cubic metres of gas per day to the Nigeria LNG Train 7 facility, one of the country’s most significant gas infrastructure projects. The development is expected to begin production before the end of the decade.
Under the new contract, the Houston-based energy services provider will deliver a comprehensive suite of integrated drilling and completion solutions, incorporating automation and remote operations. The technology package is designed to improve precision, operational efficiency, and safety during deepwater drilling and completion phases.
Halliburton’s Project Management Team will oversee execution and integration across the entire well lifecycle to ensure effective coordination and operational performance.
Shannon Slocum, President for the Eastern Hemisphere at Halliburton, said that the collaboration with SNEPCo and Sunlink Energies advances the HI gas field development and contributes to the growth of Nigeria’s energy sector.
