The extension follows Equinor’s decision to exercise the remaining options under the existing charter agreement. The new period will continue directly after the current contract without interruption.

Built in 2004, the Norway-flagged Viking Avant is classed by DNV. The vessel has a deadweight capacity of 2,500 tonnes and a gross tonnage of 6,545 GT.

Separately, Eidesvik Offshore recently announced that its PSV Viking Energy had started conversion work for ammonia-powered operations.
