DOF has been awarded a contract by Statnett to replace high-voltage subsea power cables across Otofjorden in northern Norway.

The work covers the partial removal of ageing subsea cables and the installation of new 170 kV power cables with integrated fibre-optic lines. A high-capacity construction vessel from DOF’s fleet will carry out the offshore scope, supported by survey, logistics and onshore works.

The project is scheduled to run through 2026 and 2027. Preparatory work, including project management, engineering and procurement, will start immediately from DOF’s offices in Norway and Scotland.

According to DOF Group ASA, the contract will draw on the company’s engineering, vessel, equipment and specialist team capabilities for the Otofjorden cable replacement project. The company said it will work closely with Statnett on safe and efficient delivery.
