Chiyoda Corporation has been awarded a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract by QatarEnergy LNG, acting as agent for QatarEnergy, for the North Field West (NFW) liquefied natural gas onshore facilities in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The company announced the award on 21 January 2026.

The NFW scheme is described as QatarEnergy’s third expansion of LNG production from the North Field and will raise Qatar’s LNG production capacity to 142 MTPA when the project is completed.

Chiyoda Corporation said it delivers engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance services across oil and gas, chemicals, and petrochemicals, with activity spanning about 60 countries and regions since its founding in 1948. It added that it has carried out more than 100 projects for clients in Qatar through its local group company, Chiyoda Almana Engineering LLC, and will continue supporting Qatar’s LNG expansion through the FEED scope.

The company also stated that it works with customers from early development stages with a focus on value creation through engineering, while pursuing an “energy and environment in harmony” mission as part of its sustainability approach.
