Esbjerg, Denmark – October 2025 — Offshore engineering and service provider Semco Maritime announced significant expansions in its offshore wind service operations, including new long-term vessel capacity, major service contracts, and key leadership appointments aimed at supporting its growing renewable energy portfolio.

Securing Long-Term Service Capacity

Semco Maritime has secured long-term capacity with two Jack-up Vessels (JUVs), which are currently undergoing modification and upgrades. These vessels will support major component exchanges and overhauls across active offshore wind farms, ensuring Semco Maritime’s position as a reliable partner in the rapidly expanding offshore service market.

Winning Major Offshore Wind Contracts

The company recently signed several strategic service agreements, strengthening its position in the European offshore wind O&M (Operations & Maintenance) sector:

  • A framework agreement with RWE for the maintenance of German offshore substations
  • A 10-year service contract for Global Tech I, covering maintenance across 80 turbines
  • A 3-year service agreement with Iberdrola for two offshore substations in the Baltic Hub, with options for extension

These long-term partnerships underscore Semco Maritime’s growing footprint across key North and Baltic Sea projects.

Strengthening Offshore Wind Service Organisation

To support its rapid expansion, Semco Maritime has appointed two senior industry leaders:

  • Stephen Booth, joining as Vice President of Service on 1 November. Booth brings extensive experience in offshore wind operations and a strong record in developing high-performing service teams.
  • Torben Hvid Larsen, joining as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), whose technical leadership and deep offshore background will drive innovation and growth in Semco Maritime’s service capabilities.

Both will collaborate closely with Michael Munder-Oschimek and the Wind Multiplikator GmbH – Powered by Semco Maritime team to deliver integrated, customer-focused offshore service solutions.

Driving Growth and Innovation in Renewables

Commenting on the company’s direction, Thomas Thomsen, SVP of Renewables at Semco Maritime, highlighted that these strategic moves position the company to meet increasing global demand for offshore wind service excellence.

“Our goal is to be a global leader in large-scale renewable infrastructure projects — from constructing offshore substations to providing high-quality operations and maintenance for offshore wind farms,” Thomsen said.

With an expanded fleet, strengthened leadership, and long-term partnerships with industry giants like RWE, Iberdrola, and Global Tech I, Semco Maritime continues to position itself at the forefront of offshore renewable service innovation.
