Semco Maritime of Denmark and Vietnam’s PTSC Mechanical & Construction (PTSC M&C) have been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract by Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) for the offshore substation (OSS) of the Formosa 4 wind farm in Taiwan.

The 495 MW Formosa 4 project is SRE’s third offshore wind initiative in Taiwan and represents a key step toward advancing the country’s renewable energy ambitions in line with its localization policy. Following months of negotiations, the EPC contract was finalized in late August 2025, with delivery of the OSS scheduled by the end of 2027.

Under the agreement, Semco Maritime will lead the engineering, procurement, and commissioning of the medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems, as well as auxiliary platform systems. The company will be supported by ISC Consulting Engineers. PTSC M&C will manage the jacket EPC scope, handle the procurement of remaining topside equipment and materials, and execute fabrication of the topside at its Vung Tau yard in Vietnam.

Executives from both partners emphasized the significance of the award. “We are proud that SRE has entrusted our consortium with this project, and we will draw on our joint experience in Taiwan to deliver a stellar result,” said Thomas Thomsen, Senior Vice President Renewables at Semco Maritime. PTSC M&C’s Managing Director, To Ngoc Tu, added that the partnership’s proven collaboration would remain central to ensuring success.

The Formosa 4 OSS contract is the consortium’s third such project in Taiwan, following the completed Hai Long OSS and the ongoing Feng Miao OSS project. With these milestones, the Semco Maritime–PTSC M&C partnership has further solidified its role as a trusted supplier in the Taiwanese offshore wind industry.
