Saipem has secured a contract from GOE Petrol Sanayi to provide commissioning services for the Osman Gazi floating production unit, which is intended for the Sakarya gas field in the Turkish Black Sea.
The commissioning work is expected to continue for about eight months. The award follows an operation readiness and assurance support services contract secured by Saipem in April.
The Sakarya gas field was discovered in August 2020 and is being developed by Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO). It is located about 170 km offshore in water depths of around 2,150 m.
In May 2023, TPAO awarded an EPCI contract to a consortium of SLB, Subsea7 and Saipem for the second phase of the Sakarya development. The scope includes subsea production systems and subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines.
At the end of 2025, Saipem secured another contract linked to an extension of Sakarya phase 3. The work includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of three additional pipelines with a total length of about 153 km, along with associated subsea structures.
The pipelines are planned to connect the natural gas reserve discovered at the Goktepe field with the Sakarya phase 3 facilities.
