Baker Hughes has secured a contract to provide offshore stimulation services for bp in the UK North Sea, covering both new development wells and mature fields.

The work will use Baker Hughes’ vessel-based StimFORCE modular stimulation system. The equipment will support well completion and production enhancement activities from the company’s UK operating base.

The contract includes services for new wells as well as work aimed at improving recovery from existing fields. StimFORCE can be configured for specific stimulation operations and deployed from a dedicated vessel.

According to Baker Hughes, the scope also brings together stimulation, intervention and production optimisation capabilities for bp’s North Sea portfolio.

Amerino Gatti, executive vice president of Oilfield Services & Equipment at Baker Hughes, said the company will apply those capabilities across both new and mature fields.
