Global Maritime Australia provided independent verification services for Santos during the removal of the Harriet Alpha offshore platform and the transport of its structures to shore in Western Australia.
The campaign covered a 1,600-tonne topsides and a 1,480-tonne jacket, together with associated infrastructure. The structures were removed offshore and transferred onshore for processing.
Harriet Alpha was installed in 1985 and stopped production in 2013. Its removal forms part of Western Australia’s offshore decommissioning programme.
Global Maritime joined the project during the planning phase in 2022 and remained involved through the offshore work completed in 2026. Australian and international decommissioning specialists were assigned to support the local project teams and contractor.
The company described the campaign as the largest offshore platform removal undertaken in Australia to date.
Bianca Bevan, Country Manager – Australia at Global Maritime, said the work combined local and international technical expertise to support the removal and onshore transportation of the platform structures.
