Liquids processing capacity on the Energean Power FPSO has increased to 31,000 barrels per day following the commissioning of a second oil train at the Karish and Karish North fields offshore Israel.
The expansion raises the vessel’s previous liquids handling capacity of 18,000 barrels per day by 72%. Energean said the additional capacity increases its exposure to Brent-linked revenues.
Testing has reached rates of up to 21,000 barrels per day. Energean plans to carry out further tests at higher rates during August.
The Karish field has produced natural gas and hydrocarbon liquids through the Energean Power FPSO since 2022.
Most of the natural gas is supplied to Israel’s power generation sector under long-term take-or-pay contracts. Around 20% is delivered to industrial users, while hydrocarbon liquids are marketed internationally.
