Fugro has signed a contract to carry out an offshore pipeline survey programme for the Greater Sunrise and Bayu Undan developments in Timor-Leste.

The work will support pipeline route planning, engineering design, geohazard assessment and offshore operations across the two development areas.

The programme will include geophysical, seismic, autonomous underwater vehicle and environmental surveys. Parts of the survey area extend into water depths exceeding 3,000 m.

Fugro will use AUV technology with real-time support from its Remote Operations Centres. The collected data will be processed and quality-controlled at the company’s regional data centres in Kuala Lumpur and Perth.

Project mobilisation and planning are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026. Offshore survey operations are scheduled to start in the fourth quarter and continue for approximately three months.

Safri Drahman, APAC Regional Business Line Director at Fugro, said the programme would combine geophysical, seismic and AUV survey technologies to provide Geo-data for the planned offshore infrastructure.
