Ørsted has completed all 197 concrete working platforms for the foundations of the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm, with about half of the units already transported from Świnoujście, Poland, to the Port of Tyne in the UK.
Designed by Ørsted and manufactured by AARSLEFF BIZ Sp. z o. o., each platform weighs 133 tonnes. The structures will provide working areas on the project’s monopile foundations and are designed to protect personnel during offshore operations.
Production took place at AARSLEFF BIZ Sp. z o. o.’s facility in Świnoujście. The remaining platforms are awaiting transport following technical inspections and final approvals.
The manufacturing programme supports the installation of 197 monopile foundations at Hornsea 3. Ørsted installed the project’s first monopile on 14 May 2026 and said installation of the remaining 196 units would continue through 2026 and into 2027.
Hornsea 3 is under construction 160 km off the Yorkshire coast. The offshore wind farm will have a generating capacity of 2.9 GW and is expected to be completed around the end of 2027.
