Well-Safe Solutions has been appointed lead contractor for Apache North Sea’s Beryl Field decommissioning project.
The award is the second contract Apache North Sea has given to Well-Safe Solutions this year. The company is also working on the decommissioning of the Forties Field. Together, the Forties and Beryl Field scopes cover more than 260 wells.
Well-Safe Solutions has contracted Archer to provide platform-based drilling services and specialist technical solutions for the project. The scope includes well services, wireline, coiled tubing and a Compact Workover Rig.
NMC Energy has also been contracted to provide integration, commissioning and topside decommissioning services.
The combined scope will provide Apache North Sea with an integrated solution for platform and subsea well decommissioning across the Forties and Beryl Field.
Preparatory work is underway on subsurface, well engineering and project management scopes. Offshore well operations on the Beryl Bravo platform wells are due to begin this summer. Subsea well decommissioning operations are scheduled to start in 2027, beginning a multi-year program of work.
Phil Milton, CEO of Well-Safe Solutions, said the additional scope reflects Apache North Sea’s continued confidence in the company’s decommissioning delivery.
Donald Martin, Vice President of Decommissioning at Apache North Sea, said the addition of the Beryl Field program brings together Apache North Sea, Well-Safe Solutions, Archer and NMC Energy for the Forties and Beryl Field work.
