Technip Energies, working with JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries, has secured an EPCIC contract from Mozambique Rovuma Venture for the Coral North FLNG project offshore Mozambique.

The award, combined with previously announced agreements, is a major contract for Technip Energies and represents more than $1.16 billion in revenue for the company.

Coral North is being developed by Eni and its partners CNPC, ENH, XRG and KOGAS in Area 4 offshore Mozambique. The FLNG unit is designed to produce about 3.6 million tonnes per annum of LNG.

The project is expected to raise the Coral hub’s total capacity to 7 million tonnes per annum, supporting Mozambique’s position among Africa’s largest LNG producers.

Coral North is planned as an enhanced repeat of Coral South FLNG, the first development in Area 4. Technip Energies said the approach uses similarities in feed gas composition and deepwater operating conditions, while applying engineering and integration lessons from the earlier project.

The company said the standardized delivery model is intended to improve execution certainty, optimize performance and provide stronger predictability during project development.

The latest award follows earlier Coral Norte contracts and confirms continued progress in Technip Energies’ scope of work on the project.

He said the “design one, build many” model can accelerate large-scale offshore project delivery, support new LNG capacity, contribute to energy security and diversification, and reinforce Mozambique’s growing role in the global LNG market.
