CS WIND Offshore is carrying out capacity upgrades at its upending site in Aalborg to support the handling and outfitting of larger Transition Pieces.
The work includes the installation of more than 1,000 new crane mats and an extension of the crane tracks. These upgrades will allow the site to upend and outfit more Transition Pieces at the same time.
A new rainwater drainage system is also being introduced to support site operations, while enhanced site levelling is expected to improve safety and efficiency for teams working at the facility.
In addition, new foundation plates are being installed to accommodate larger Transition Pieces, in line with client requirements and evolving market demand for foundations with increased dimensions.
The expansion also creates additional positions for Transition Pieces, resulting in a nearly 25% increase in capacity at the Aalborg site.
The upgrade work is being carried out in collaboration with Munck Havne & Anlæg a/s.
