Smulders said on 19 January 2026 that it has been chosen by Chantiers de l’Atlantique to carry out Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for the offshore substation jacket foundation on the 600 MW Dunkerque Offshore Wind Farm off the French coast, with Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE) as the end-client.

The jacket foundation will support the offshore substation. The scope covers detailed engineering, procurement, and construction, with the company pointing to its track record on complex substation jackets delivered across Europe.

Execution is set to run alongside Chantiers as the main EPCI contractor and RTE as the end-client. Smulders added that final assembly and delivery are planned from its French yard in Fos-sur-Mer, a step it says strengthens local presence and supports reliable offshore energy infrastructure.
